Margie Eubank ObituaryMargie Thomas Whitlock Eubank, age 85, departed this life on October 11, 2015. She was born on December 19, 1929 to the late Bessie Clay Whitlock and Edward Thomas Whitlock Sr. Margie was preceded in death by her only brother, Edward Thomas Whitlock Jr.; and by her husband, Charles M. Eubank.

     A native of Richmond, she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1947 and began her career in accounting at Reliable Home Equipment Company, where she met her late husband. In 1959, Margie resumed her career in accounting and real estate settlements with Rice, Shaffer & Keith. She continued her career with John W. Keith Jr. in the law firm of Keith & Inge, where she remained for 31 years until they joined the firm of Taylor, Hazen & Kauffman in 1988. Twenty years later, she joined James Kauffman at Taylor Walker, P.C. After four years, the firm of Taylor Walker dissolved and she continued her assistance to James Kauffman at Cherry, Seymour & Baronian, P.C. After 57 years of performing the work she loved, Margie retired in December 2014.

     In addition to her career, raising her daughter, being a housewife and caring for her elderly parents, Margie found the time to hold the office of secretary for a transportation union, acting as president of a ladies' auxiliary and serving on several committees while attending Reveille Methodist Church. Following the death of her husband, Margie joined St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, where she found peace and much love among fellow members.

     Margie is survived by her daughter, Cynthia E. Best; grandson, Patrick A. Best, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; numerous in-laws in the Eubank family, particularly her close sister-in-law, Jean Eubank; and many relatives in the Clay and Whitlock families. She also leaves behind her much-loved and wonderful neighbors, Sheri Rosner and Dean Hudnutt, who watched over her day and night. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229, and where her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with The Reverend Andrew Dunks officiating. Interment in Westhampton Memorial Park, Gaskins Road and Patterson Avenue.
